Author's Review

I've only just gotten into the whole espresso/cappuccino thing for about the last 4-5 years, making frequent visits to the local Starbucks in the beginning. So, I didn't/don't consider myself an expert. However, I
DO consider myself a budding espresso aficionado...a Barista, if you will!

I love to make espresso drinks (capp, latte, etc.), but I've more recently focused on enjoying pure espresso, with maybe a little sugar and/or cream. Which brings me to my most recent coffee purchase...

I just bought the Nespresso D150 about a week ago (I purchased it from www.1stincoffee.com, and they were very helpful.), and I'm in love!!! My previous machine was a Mr. Coffee model - not necessarily a waste, as I'm sure I got my money's worth out of it. But, there's no comparison!

There is so much to like about the machine. The quality of the coffee is excellent, and the "system" by which it is prepared is unique. Even the level of service (answering questions, quick delivery, etc.) that Nespresso gives the customer is exceptional! They have been very responsive.

Speaking of the "system", Nespresso takes a different path, so to speak, in getting the coffee from bean to cup! They use a varient of the coffee/espresso "pod" which is housed in a sealed, lined, aluminum, color-coded capsule. For every shot, doppio, lungo, capp/latte that you make, it's a breeze from start to finish! Simply turn on the machine, let it heat up, place the capsule in, and turn the lever to run as much hot water through as is needed. The capsule is punctured only when placed into the machine and water is ready to be forced through it. This being one more advantage of the "system" - your espresso will be much more fresh!!! And hey! Clean up is just as easy. Just dump the used capsule in the trash! I love the capsules, even though you can only get them from Nespresso (www.nespresso.com).

Concerning capsule variety, there is a pretty nice selection of nine (9)intended for Espresso, and three (3) for Lungo (larger cup). Each is color-coded, and in no time, you'll recognize each coffee just by the capsule color. The system is so quick, convenient, clean, and stress free. You'll be drinking espresso instead of making it. Point is - buy it; I'm sure that you'll love it!!!!
